Goodyear welting

This technique allows the welt to be machine-stitched in a way that closely resembles hand welting. It consists of assembling the upper and the insole through the welt.

This construction provides greater walking comfort and allows the soles to be replaced multiple times.

OUR QUALITY

Dack shoes are made using the strongest and most renowned construction method in shoemaking: Goodyear construction.

Handcrafting a pair of Dack shoes requires skill, pride, and time—nearly eight weeks. Each pair goes through 200 distinct processes, from the careful selection and cutting of the leather to the final polishing and packaging.

Tips for Trying On Your Shoes

  1. Feet swell throughout the day. To ensure a proper fit, always try shoes later in the day.
  2. Always try on both shoes. Most people have a slight size variation between their feet. The larger foot will determine the size you actually need.
  3. Be sure to stand up and walk around a bit in the shoes.
  4. Wear the socks you normally wear with the shoes you are trying on.
  5. Do not allow for a “break-in” period. Shoes should be comfortable the first time you wear them.
  6. There should be just a little space between your heel and the back of the shoe. Too much is bad, but the back of the shoe should not rub or press against your skin.
  7. You should be able to move your toes freely in the shoes. Shoes that squeeze or pinch your toes will quickly make you uncomfortable and can lead to painful and more serious problems over time.
